چکیده

The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical efficacy (sensitivity, specificity) ultrasound-based imaging methods for assessment fibrosis and steatosis in patients with non-àlcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Sixty-six NAFLD 43 healthy volunteers (control group) were tested. Liver biopsy used as a reference method evaluation NAFLD. stiffness measurement (LSM) transient elastography (TE) two-dimensional shear wave (2D-SWE) assess fibrosis. Steatosis assessed by Controlled Attenuation Parameter (CAP) EchoLevels (ELs). Using ELs, two hepato-renal indices calculated – index difference (HRIdiff) ratio (HRIratio). Additionally, one serum biomarker APRI. Cut-offs cirrhosis (F4) defined follows: ≥ 9.64 kPa 9.85 2D-SWE TE. Only had correlation significant cut-off 6.50 lack (F < 2) less than 5.26 kPa. diagnosed 240.50 dB/m CAP, HRIdiff 0.39, HRIratio ≤ 0.99 ELs. Both types SWE ultrasound (US) attenuation have good

Hepatic steatosis and fibrosis: Non-invasive assessment

Chronic liver disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and usually develops over many years, as a result of chronic inflammation and scarring, resulting in end-stage liver disease and its complications. The progression of disease is characterised by ongoing inflammation and consequent fibrosis, although hepatic steatosis is increasingly being recognised as an important path...

Novel Algorithm for Non-Invasive Assessment of Fibrosis in NAFLD

INTRODUCTION Various conditions of liver disease and the downsides of liver biopsy call for a non-invasive option to assess liver fibrosis. A non-invasive score would be especially useful to identify patients with slow advancing fibrotic processes, as in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), which should undergo histological examination for fibrosis. PATIENTS/METHODS Classic liver serum ...

Non-invasive assessment of liver steatosis and fibrosis in HIV/HCV- and HCV- infected patients.

BACKGROUND Conflicting data have been reported on the prevalence of liver steatosis, its risk factors and its relationship with fibrosis in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/hepatitis C virus (HCV) co-infection or with HCV mono-infection. AIM The study aims were to assess steatosis prevalence and its risk factors in both HCV groups. We also evaluated whether steatosis was linke...

Non-invasive assessment of fibrosis in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common chronic liver disease in Western countries, and its prevalence is increasing worldwide. It currently affects approximately 30% of adults and 10% of children and adolescents. The resulting increase in the number of patients with NAFLD is expected to translate into increased numbers of patients with liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular c...
